The pit bull involved in the attack of a Cavalier King Charles spaniel last week in Pukalani has been deemed dangerous by the Maui Humane Society.
Pharmacy expanding despite slow economy

Despite the slow economy, the owners of Maui Clinic Pharmacy are expanding their business and aiming to open a new pharmacy and gift store in Paia as early as next week.
"Drugs are not a luxury item, therefore you need to take them no matter the condition of the economy," explained pharmacy owner Les Krenk.
Island TV broadcasters going digital on Jan. 15

In the interest of endangered native birds who nest atop Haleakala, the Hawaii Association of Broadcasters says its members will switch to digital broadcasting on Jan. 15, a month ahead of a federal deadline.
On Maui, an estimated 5 percent of households rely on over the air signals. The remainder get their TV via cable or satellite dish.
State Supreme Court to hear Superferry appeal

WAILUKU - Maui leaders who questioned allowing the Hawaii Superferry to operate before an environmental impact statement is completed said Wednesday they are pleased that the Hawaii Supreme Court has agreed to review the issue.
